With the victory, the Crew climb out of the cellar of the Eastern Conference. San Jose, meanwhile, falls to 1-7-2 and remain on five points, worst in the Western Conference.

After opening the season without a win in their first seven games, the Columbus Crew finally found victory in the eighth. The streak, the worst opening to a season in club history, ended with a 3-2 win over the Kansas City Wizards.

Columbus' search for their first win of the young season was stymied yet again by a late collapse, having to settle for a 2-2 draw against Chicago. The Crew led by a 2-0 scoreline in the 85th minute, but conceded twice in the span of three minutes. The draw leaves the team with a 0-2-4 record after six games, leaving them in last place in the Eastern Conference.

After Thursday's disaster in Salt Lake, the Columbus Crew had a tall order in front of them. Could they bounce back and erase the memories of that lopsided defeat?
